Low Risks for Mesothelioma Diagnosis After Radiation Treatment

Researchers in Italy have analyzed the United States of America’s government SEER cancer database and have determined that individuals being diagnosed with mesothelioma are only slightly higher when they have had radiation treatment than those individuals that have not.

Mesothelioma specialists and scientists had determined that radiation exposure increased your chances of a mesothelioma diagnosis, but this new finding shows that the chances are minimal. An individuals exposure to asbestos through their occupation and environment is still the main cause for mesothelioma.

Mesothelioma Victims Take Action Against FACT Act

The U.S. Congress is hearing and determining its next move with House Resolution 982, also known as the FACT Act. If this legislation is passed, then it would require asbestos trusts to release confidential information about asbestos victims. The information would contain the last four digits of an individual’s Social Security Number, family information and their employment history.

If you believe that asbestos victims and mesothelioma patients should have more hoops to jump through and that their monetary compensation should be delayed, then you agree with the FACT Act. How Would California Law Treat a Negligent Ebola Outbreak?

Emory University Hospital and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital have now seen multiple patients suffering with the Ebola virus. The doctors were well aware of this deadly virus before they saw their first patient. They knew that patients with Ebola have a very high mortality rate, estimated at 50 percent or higher. They knew that the virus is transmitted by human contact with blood or bodily fluids of an infected patient. They knew that their employees could be infected if they came in contact with the infected patient’s blood or bodily fluids, and they knew that, if infected, their employees could then infect their family members and others with which they came in contact.
